May the below images nudge you to get out your camera and take more pictures. Or quite possibly these photographs will encourage you to spend more quality time with your loved ones. Or maybe these simple photographs will inspire you in some emotional way without any more explanation needed.
A photograph says a thousand words just being that, a photograph. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. Sometimes the simplicity of where they were taken and the expressions and moment captured are priceless.

Sunflower Seeds and ballplayers- The two go together well and the small tasty and salty seeds are often a treat for the players while on the field or in the dugout. This photograph captures a precious split second in time of a young player in the dugout while she waits for her turn to bat. If you look close enough, you can see the small shell of the sunflower seed flying in the air just under her protective cage of her helmet. This was one of my favorite pictures of the day.
Game Face- I guess the caption under this photograph can mean most anything but the expression on the face of the young eight year old is priceless. I don't think she really cared about the score that day or paid attention to whose team was winning or how many innings were left to play. Today's game was all about having fun, getting out there and playing, and knowing your parents were there to rally and cheer you and the team on.
High-Fives- Many say the first high-five in professional sports were introduced back in the 1960's with its origins in basketball. Later in the 1980's high fives became popular in professional baseball games. Well, the tradition continues to this day and today the girls high-fived their competition after the game finished. I took this photograph to capture just that, two eight your olds adding the finishing touches to the game's end.
Post Game Speech- After every ball game comes the coaches speech, a recap of the good and the bad, usually a summary of how well each girl played. The girls huddle together and prepare for the coaches speech, a typical moment where the good and bad points are about the game. The glimpse of a small child under all of the hands peering really expresses the real moment.
"Sunflower Seed in the Dugout"
More Sunflower Seeds- This photograph captures an eight year old girl in the dugout enjoying sunflower seeds. The image details the freckles and features of her face. Shortly after this was taken, she grabbed her helmut and bat and hit a nice ball through the infield for a single which put her on first base.
Catcher's Mask- This is a simple picture of a catcher's mask that I took and liked after viewing it later. It portrays the protection needed in a softball game so that the young players do not get hurt out on the field.
